Michael and I strive to make your photo session a fun and relaxed experience. We take our hints from you and your family to create unique and authentic images that focus on your relationships.
We want to tell your family’s story as it is right now. We document your kid’s fleeting phases and your beautiful today. We photograph real life moments in a documentary style with a mix of relaxed portraits. We’ve all had parents of older kids tell us that it all goes by too fast…and it does. But with photography at least you know you have something to help you remember this time.
LOCATION
Sessions generally take place in your home in Hudson Valley so that your kids are most comfortable. If you’re concerned that your home may be too small or not magazine-worthy, don’t worry. We have photographed in many little houses in the village of Warwick. All we need is a room with beautiful natural light. We believe in capturing your kid’s childhood home and even the mess you’ll one day miss – the living room that looks like a preschool, or the backpacks and shoes you trip over by the door.
KIDS
It may appear that the families we photograph are perfect. They aren’t. Neither is our family. We’ve photographed kids on the verge of tears meeting someone new, and kids that are so excited that they have a hard time sitting still. We’re patient. We give your quiet one time to get used to us, and we listen to and chat with the energized ones. One of the greatest compliments is hearing a parent tell us that we captured their child’s personality and their real smile.
PARENTS
Many parents are used to being the ones taking the pictures instead of being in the pictures. We feel very strongly about parents being in photographs with their children. We’ll do our best to help you relax, be in the moment, have fun and get you a sweet snuggle photo.
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
We’ll get to know each other through a questionnaire, and chats by email or phone to discuss locations, clothing and ideas to make your images timeless and beautiful. Your session fee reserves your date and you’ll get access to our Session Guide.
WHAT TO WEAR
We aim to capture the true personality of your family. It’s important that your clothing choices speak to who you are. Look for outfits that compliment but aren’t identical.
DURING YOUR SESSION
Michael and I will help to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere for your session. We’ll spend about an hour capturing your family’s natural expressions and distinct personalities.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
We’ll meet approximately 1 week after your session for your Session Premiere. You’ll see what we captured. And you’ll get to see the beautiful products we have to offer and I’ll assist you with creating stunning art for your home and keepsakes to last a lifetime. Your custom portraits will be delivered 2-3 weeks from the time the order was placed. We offer beautiful unique art pieces and many sizes of ready to hang wall art.
SCHEDULING
We are currently scheduling sessions 2-6 weeks in advance, and 6-12 weeks in advance for autumn sessions. If you are an expecting mother interested in an Expecting Photo Session or Newborn Session, please contact us early to save a date range. If you’d like sleeping newborns photos, they are taken in their first two weeks.
PRICES
Our Session Fee is $300. All of our Collections include all of the edited images, about 50 to 60 images, and start at $200. Our most popular photo product is our custom linen-cover Session Book. We also offer custom greeting cards, ready-to-hang framed art, and prints.
