Our little kitchen reno project

The first day I ever saw my kitchen, I thought “those dark cabinets HAVE to be painted, the gold hardware has to be replaced and that tile HAS TO GO.” I replaced the hardware soon after we moved in. A couple of years later I painted the cabinets. Just a few weeks ago, removing the tiles finally made our home reno list! Our boys had a great time removing the tile! I knew I wanted beadboard to replace the tile but thought it needed something else – some kind of shelf bracket. I looked for months for just the right thing. On a recent visit to New Hampshire I was so happy to find corbels at an architectuel salvage company! It was the coolest place to go shopping! Michael installed the corbels and beadboard and I did the painting. I absolutely love the long awaited results! Next step – removing the rest of the tile and replacing the countertops!
